The MAZZALI’s cabinets and bookcases are made exclusively in HONEYCOMB ( sandwich compound )  with SOLID WOOD

" The honeycomb is a type of panel used in the production of furniture and furnishings particularly appreciated for its lightness, strength and dimensional stability

The honeycomb is made from two sheets of mdf on a perimeter frame of solid wood in order to obtain in practice an empty panel inside. To increase the resistance of the panel in the central empty part  a honeycomb structure is addede. For this reason, this panel is often also called honeycomb panel .
 
Having regard to the specific weight (usually less than 0.2 kg / dm ² ) is used a lot for the realization of doors and for the doors of cabinets that would be too heavy if made ​​of chipboard or MDF ( specific weight varies from 0.5 to 0 , 75 kg / dm ²). 
Other applications in the field of furniture, are  shelves, sides  and any application requiring light weight, dimensional stability and robustness associated with a thickness of at least 30 mm. "
